About

As a woman in leadership,

Bron Williams has:

  • led a school
  • run a Salvation Army church and welfare centre
  • worked with asylum seekers on Nauru

Over the past 16 years,

she has:

  • shattered family and cultural expectations around what a woman should do,
  • challenged societal norms around what ageing looks like, and
  • reformed and reshaped her career not once but twice.

She has discovered that it takes courage to:

  • let go of long-held beliefs that hold us back.
  • lead from behind when leadership is not recognised.
  • set up and run businesses in new ways.

Thanks Bron, for an inspirational keynote speech to our AGM.

I have had many messages from our members praising your content and delivery. As a past member of BPW, you know how focused the group is on advocating for equity. Your speech reminded us that we should continue to take time to interrogate our own biases and ensure our advocacy in inclusive.

Your passion and commitment showed through in your commentary and challenge to the group. You set the scene for an engaging Governance Summit.

Thank you.

SPEAKING

Bron, in my opinion, is one of the most in-tune and insightful public speakers and champion for real change that I have ever listened to. She presented to almost 200 people at my work and created a lot of buzz.

Bron's presentation to our diversity network made many of us look at our own biases and those biases we can call out in others in a less judgmental way. For after all, we are all biased as we're all human. I would highly recommend Bron's presentation to others. She's an engaging speaker, and she made it clear that when people put in the effort to change then the culture in a workplace can change.

I acknowledge the traditional owners and custodians of the lands on which I live and work, the Wurundjeri People of the Kulin Nation. I thank them for caring for Country for thousands of generations. I pay my respects to their Elders – past, present and emerging. Sovereignty has never been ceded - it always was and always will be Aboriginal land.
